I grew up playing soccer and took my soccer career as far as I could. I played soccer at DePauw University in Indiana and had two short trials with lower division professional soccer teams. Once my lifelong goal of becoming a professional soccer player did not work out I looked for something new. I found running was natural since I had to run for soccer so I decided to train for the 2010 Chicago Marathon. From then on I was hooked. I did the Chicago Sprint Triathlon the summer of 2010 and knew I wanted to compete in triathlons in 2011.
Hopefully this blog gives insight to my training, nutrition, random thoughts, and other aspects of being an age group triathlete.
